Capsule Geology

Jurassic Topley granite intrudes Lower Jurassic Hazelton Group volcanics (Telkwa Formation) comprised mainly of dark green to red andesite and andesitic tuff. The granodioritic stock also intrudes older, Permian dark grey limestone and shale zones.

The Topley granodiorite exhibits propylitic alteration and hosts disseminated magnetite. The mafic minerals are chloritized. Chalcopyrite is reported to be disseminated locally within the intrusive.

Work History

The Karen 1-17 claims cover the granitic intrusives the east end of Fulton Lake and extend eastward for about 12.4 kilometres. The location of the Donna group is uncertain. The Donna and Karen groups, totalling 125 claims, were held in 1969 by Whitesail Mines Ltd.; the Karen group had been purchased under a joint venture agreement with Mercury Explorations Ltd. Work in 1969, apparently on the Donna group, included geological mapping, magnetometer, induced potential, and geochemical soil surveys. Work on the Karen group in 1970 included limited magnetometer, induced potential and geochemical soil surveys.

In 2012, an aeromagnetic program was conducted over the Flute and Lennac properties by Riverside Resources (BC) Inc. The total covered area was 813 square kilometres and the total survey line coverage was 4,444 line kilometres (Assessment Report 33032, 33707F). The Donna occurrence was covered by this survey.

Refer to O (093L 163) and THEZAR 75 (WEST) (093L 190) for further details of the Lennac Lake and Flute properties. The Donna appears to be within the property boundaries, depending on the surmised location which is not precise.
